About Restore & Repel
Restore & Repel has served Topsfield since 2003. Meet our IICRC-certified restoration team. Licensed, insured, locally owned.
Restore & Repel has been handling water, fire, and mold losses on Massachusetts’s North Shore since 2003. Restoration wasn’t a side offering added to a general contracting business; it’s been the whole focus from the start, built around the idea that a flooded basement or a smoke-damaged kitchen doesn’t wait for business hours, and neither should the people who show up to fix it.
What we do
Most days start with a phone call from someone who didn’t expect to need us: a burst supply line behind a washing machine, a grease fire that got away from the stovetop, a basement that’s been quietly growing mold behind the drywall since last spring’s storm. We answer 24/7, because water and fire damage don’t follow a schedule, and the first few hours after a loss often determine whether materials can be saved or need to be torn out.
A lot of the job happens before any drying equipment gets plugged in: documenting the damage room by room, writing up moisture readings, and working directly with insurance adjusters so homeowners aren’t stuck translating claim forms in the middle of a crisis. We bill most major carriers directly and keep records built to hold up if a claim gets questioned later. It’s detail work wrapped around a stressful moment, and we treat both halves of that as part of the job.
Our certifications and licensure
Our technicians carry IICRC certifications in Water Damage Restoration (WRT), Fire and Smoke Restoration (FSRT), and Mold Remediation (AMRT). The IICRC sets the technical standards the restoration industry is actually built on, things like drying protocols, moisture mapping, and containment procedures, so these credentials mean our crews are trained to a documented standard rather than just experience picked up on the job.
Restore & Repel holds Massachusetts contractor license #CS-113-396. We carry this license and these certifications because restoration work affects both the structural integrity of a home and the health of the people living in it, and that’s not a place to guess.
Where we work
We’re based in Topsfield and work throughout the North Shore of Massachusetts, a region of old farmhouses, saltbox colonials, and postwar capes sitting on a mix of fieldstone foundations and poured concrete that was never quite built for New England’s freeze-thaw cycles. Pipes crack in January cold snaps, ice dams back water up under roofing in February, and the humid stretch from June through August gives mold a head start in any basement or crawlspace that stayed damp too long. Working in the same towns year after year means we’re usually familiar with the housing stock before we even walk in the door, which saves time when time is the thing in shortest supply.
